Aminu Tambuwal, the Governor of Sokoto State, has predicted that the Peoples Democratic Party will win control of the six South-West states in the 2023 elections.

Tambuwal stated that the party’s victory in Osun State was a foreshadowing of the PDP’s bid to take over the entire South-West region.

Tambuwal spoke on Wednesday as the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, met with party stakeholders from the South-West in Ibadan.

The meeting was attended by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Osun State Governor-elect Senator Ademola Adeleke, former Osun State Governor Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and his Ondo State counterpart, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, and other party leaders from the South-West.

“What happened in Osun State recently is a sign of what is to come,” Tambuwal said. The South-West will be delivered to the PDP in 2023.”

Senator Iyorchia Ayu, who was represented by Ambassador Umar Damagun, said the PDP had nothing to fear in the upcoming elections and urged members to vote for PDP members.

Adeleke stated that Atiku was an integral part of the South-West region and that by the grace of God, he would win in 2023.
