Armed bandits operating in Zuru emirate precisely within Danko/Wasagu axis have killed four anti riot mobile police, three soldiers and seven civilians.
The incident which was confirmed by the Kebbi police command image maker Dsp Nafiu Abubakar occurred along Kanwa, Minomi and Dadin kowa all under Danko/Wasagu local government area of kebbi state.
According to him, the team mobilised to the scene following a tipped off by the affected villages who told the police that already bandits are on their way out of the town with huge rustled cows.
In an attempt to retrieve the cows from the bandits a gun duel ensued between them which led to the killing of the police and soldiers with seven civilians that were caught in a cross fire, undisclosed casualties were also recorded by the bandits.
While lamenting the unfortunate incident, the spokesman urge members of the public to continue to furnish the police with accurate and prompt information to assist them in the fight against banditry and cattle rustling in Kebbi state.
A traditional ruler from the affected villages who dont want to be mentioned said such are almost on daily basis adding that alot of them have relocated to nearby villages for refuge.
He appealed to the state government to come to their rescue.
