Benjamin Mendy, a French professional footballer who plays as a left-back, has returned to training days after being cleared of all rape charges.
The former Manchester City defender had been suspended after being accused of attempting to rape a woman, 29, while she was showering at his home in October 2018.
Mendy was declared a free man on Friday, July 14, 2023, after a jury cleared him of all charges, including the allegation that he raped a 24-year-old woman in his bedroom at his mansion in Prestbury, Cheshire, two years after the first.
Mendy was spotted training with some local footballers on a pitch in Manchester today.
The 29-year-old player reportedly showed up at the Pitts complex in Ardwick, Manchester, for a local football game with some surprised strangers.
“Mendy showed up and asked some of the lads if he could join in,”An onlooker told the Sun that they couldn’t believe they were playing against a Premier League player and a World Cup winner.
“He had a laugh and just enjoyed himself and was happy to shake everyone’s hand at the end and sign autographs,” an onlooker added.
Benjamin Mendy is currently a free agent after leaving Manchester City.
