Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee has just announced that it will conduct the national convention on March 26, 2022.

This is contrary to a letter it sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission on the conduct of zonal congresses.

The Committee has been in a closed-door meeting since 11am on Monday.

The National Secretary of the Party, Dr John Akpanudoedehe, who announced the new development to Correspondents after the closed-door meeting said the preparation for the national convention will commence on March 24, 2022, while the zonal congresses will hold before the national convention slated for March 26, 2022.
