Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo State has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Igbara Oke community in Ifedore local government area over violent protest by some youths of the community which reportedly caused unrest in the community.
The reason of for the protest was the outcome of the re-run councillorship election, which was won by Kehinde Lawal of the All Progressives Congress(APC).
A leader of the protesters, Francis Ayeni said the protest was to reject imposition of what he termed as ‘alien’ as councillor representing the community.
