Over 200 terrorists menacing Niger State people have been neutralised in three days of massive crackdown by a Joint Security Task Force.
The terrorists were confronted in different parts of the state, in Rafi, Wushishi and Mashegu Local Government Areas and over 100 motorcycles were also impounded from them.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs ,Mr Emmanuel Umaru disclosed this while addressing newsmen at Government House on Wednesday.

Umaru who is also the chairman Security Joint Taskforce said that armed bandits were neutralised at Kundu village of Rafi Local Government area last night during the operation.
“We are making progress in the ongoing fight against banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling and other criminal elements in our state” Umaru said.

He said that most of the cows recovered where handed over to the rightful owners .
According to him, the detachment of Police Tactical Squad and the military have been deployed to identify areas where the bandits operate with a view to tracking down the criminals.
“We appeal to residents to assist security personnel deployed with reliable information that could aid in apprehending miscreants.
” The security measures already in place in 25 Local Government Areas would make it difficult for bandits to operate.
“We are all out to deal with any person or group of people undermining the peaceful atmosphere our area was known for through well coordinated security approach,” the commissioner said.
” We appeal to residents to complement government political will by coming out with reliable information that could aid our security personnel deploy with reliable information that could pave way for the arrest and prosecution of all those involved “,he said (NAN).
