The Buji Local Government Council of Jigawa has said it will embark on fumigation exercise across its 10 wards in order to rid the council of mosquitos, as part of efforts to control malaria.

Sulaiman, who spoke at Madabe village, noted that the gesture was to complement the state government’s and other partners’ efforts in reducing prevalence of malaria.
He reaffirmed the council’s commitment to providing improved healthcare services in the area.
Sulaiman, who assured of his commitment to protect people of the area from all sort of diseases, called on the beneficiaries, particularly women and children to ensure that they protect themselves against malaria through ownership and use of the nets.
The council boss further urged them always keep their environment clean, so as to eliminate contact with vector responsible for carrying the malaria parasite.
Also speaking, the area’s Head of Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Alhaji Musa Gambo, urged residents to ensure that they sleep inside the nets every night in order to protect themselves from mosquitos.
