The management of Bayero University Kano (BUK) has disclosed plans to review the registration deadline for the 2023–24 academic session.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Sagir Abbas, made the disclosure on Thursday when he received the leadership of Kano Correspondents Chapel at his office.
DailyNews24 reports an outrage over the increase in the university’s registration fees among the students.
He said the university made the decision after meeting with the delegation of the Kano state government, through the Commissioner of Higher Education, who expressed concern about the increase in registration fees.
According to him, the institution was compelled to increase the registration fee to enable it to run its affairs effectively.
He said after the meeting, the university would announce a new date for the closure of registration to enable students who have yet to pay their fee to do so.
