Michael Nwabufo, also known as Mike Premium and the Ambassador for the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), has called on Point of Sales (POS) agents and small business owners to ensure they meet the July 7 deadline for CAC registration.
In a statement released in Lagos on Tuesday, Nwabufo emphasized the importance of timely registration to avoid complications in business operations.
“Business owners must steer clear of anything that could complicate their business operations at the expiration of the window for registration,” he said.

With the deadline just five days away, Nwabufo encouraged businesses to utilize the CAC Special Registration Portal (SRP) or the PCCSIGN platform for registration. He highlighted SRP as an innovative solution designed to streamline and expedite the business registration process in Nigeria.
“This initiative is a significant step forward, offering a more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly registration process for all Nigerians. We encourage small businesses, particularly point-of-sale (POS) agents, to register via the SRP. This formal registration not only provides legal recognition but also enhances credibility and opens up opportunities for growth,” Nwabufo stated.
He further noted the SRP’s user-friendly interface and reduced registration and approval times, making it accessible to users of varying technological proficiency. Additionally, the CAC has partnered with the Practitioners of Content Creating, Skit-making, and Influencers Guild (PCCSIGN) platform to ease the process and remove complications.
Nwabufo reiterated the importance of completing all registrations by July 7, noting that support teams are available to assist with any questions or challenges.
“The CAC deadline for the registration of POS agents and other small businesses is crucial. All registrations must be completed by July 7. The public can register by visiting the Special Registration Portal or the PCCSIGN platform and following the provided instructions,” he advised.
He commended the Registrar-General of CAC, Hussaini Magaji (SAN), and the CAC team for the introduction of the SRP, which represents a significant advancement in modernizing Nigeria’s business registration process. Nwabufo acknowledged the Registrar-General’s commitment to ensuring efficient business formalization for entrepreneurs, contributing to the nation’s economic growth and development.
Recall that in May, Registrar-General Hussaini Magaji announced that Point of Sales (PoS) agents of major fintech companies, including OPay, Palmpay, and Moniepoint, must register their businesses by July 7. The CAC is currently handling no fewer than 15,000 applications daily, including on weekends, as part of its fintech regularization program.
