The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, has lauded the troops of Operation Hadin Kai for resilience, commitment and sacrifice in ongoing fight against Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province(ISWAP) terrorists in the North East.
The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, in a statement on Thursday, said the COAS commended the troops at a visit to the troops’ on Thursday in Buratai and Biu in Borno.
He urged the troop to be more vigilant and alert to their responsibilities, adding that with discipline and commitment, the war in the North east would be brought to an end.

Yahaya reassured troops that desired attention was being given to the administrative and operational challenges confronting their units.
At the palace of the Emir of Biu, Alhaji Mustapha Umar, the COAS solicited the support of the traditional leader and his subjects in the ongoing counter insurgency operations.
He said the cooperation and goodwill of the traditional institution and the citizenry were invaluable for meaningful and sustainable operational success.
Responding, the royal father assured the COAS of the unflinching support and cooperation of his traditional council and the good people of Biu Emirate to the Nigerian army.
The Emir conveyed the appreciation of the Emirate to the COAS for the sacrifices and commitment displayed by troops in combating insurgency in his domain.
He urged the army chief and indeed the Nigerian army to remain resolute in discharging its constitutional responsibilities.
The COAS has embarked on operational tour of the North East Theatre of Operations on Wednesday, to assess the progress made in the counter insurgency operation and interact with commanders and troops. (NAN)
