A little incident occurred on Saturday at the Simbiat Abiola Way in Ikeja, Lagos State, when a police corporal assaulted his superior.

The superior officer, Supol Edgar, was confronted by the unnamed corporal for allegedly causing traffic at the intersection connecting the Awolowo Way.

The corporal then assaulted Edgar after they got into a disagreement.

The policeman was unaware that Edgar was a police officer who lived nearby in a barracks.

When Edgar apparently called out to his barracks mates during the altercation, they reportedly surged out and hauled the cop inside.

Punch correspondent, who was at the scene of the incident, observed as the corporal was forcefully dragged into the police barracks.

For security reasons, one eyewitness only identified himself as Stanley. He claimed that a tricycle rider who attempted to get through some cars at the intersection was to blame for the issue.

The cop did not reveal his identity in a timely manner, according to a traffic warden who was present but asked to remain anonymous since he was not authorized to speak about the situation.
