In an unprecedented event, travelers at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal II (MMA2) were left astonished on Saturday as Olamide Alli and Abiodun Agboola exchanged wedding vows right at the terminal.
Daily News 24 reports that the terminal, operated by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd. (BASL), played host to this unique ceremony.
A section of the departure area was cordoned off to accommodate around 50 guests for the intimate event.

Mr. Kola Bamigboye, Chief Operating Officer of BASL, highlighted the significance of this event, noting that it was the first of its kind at the airport. “The wedding shows that MMA2 is more than just a terminal,” he said, expressing hopes that this successful ceremony would inspire others to consider airport weddings. “We like to bring people together, whether they are traveling through our terminal or coming here to solidify their love.”
Mrs. Monica Oguta, Head of Aviation Security for BASL, emphasized that the wedding was an opportunity to create value for airport terminals. When asked if the couple were airport staff, Oguta clarified, “They are just Nigerians who felt the idea was good. I started nursing the idea of an airport wedding some years back, and when the opportunity came, we seized it.”
NAN reports that the couple exchanged their vows and rings in a ceremony officiated by Ms. Oluwabukunmi Aminu, a vow coordinator. Passengers, including Mrs. Abigail Babatunde, expressed amazement at witnessing such an event for the first time.
To cap off the celebration, the couple was presented with free flight tickets by Value Jet Airline.
