This development follows a recent order from the Federal High Court in Kano, presided over by Justice A.M. Liman.

Last Thursday, the Federal High Court issued a restraining order concerning the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Emir of Kano and addressed the law establishing the dissolved five emirates in the state.

In response, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf questioned the legitimacy of Justice Liman’s order, stating that the judge was abroad in the US at the time.

The governor announced his intention to report the issue to the Nigeria Governors Forum and asserted that there are no impediments to recognizing Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Emir of Kano.

This ongoing legal and political tussle over the emirate’s leadership continues to capture public attention and raises questions about the state’s governance and judicial processes.
