A Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday remanded two men, Kabir Mustapha and Farouq Sani, in a correctional centre over alleged armed robbery.

The defendants of unknown addresses are facing a three-count charge of armed robbery, unlawful possession of firearms and conspiracy.

The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, who did not take the defendants plea, ordered that they should be remanded pending legal advice from the State Director of Public Prosecution.

Emmanuel adjourned the case until Jan. 12, 2022, for hearing.

The prosecutor, Insp. Chidi Leo, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Nov. 14, along Zaria Road, Kaduna.

Leo alleged that the defendants who were armed with a locally made pistol and a cutlass, robbed one Garba Hassan of his Honda Civic Hybrid, value unknown, and other valuables worth N300,000.

He said the offences contravened Sections 1(2), a 6(b) and 28 of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, Cap. 398, Vol RII, Law of the Federation, 2004.(NAN)
