Crisis has once again rocked the Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Hon. Sani Jaji, federal lawmaker representing Kaura-named-Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency, and his supporters have formed a new faction within the party.
Speaking at a press conference in Gusau on Wednesday, Hon. Aminu Abubakar MC, chairman of the newly formed Sani Jaji-led APC faction, expressed grievances over what he described as the failure of party leaders to foster unity among members due to selfish interests.

Abubakar stated, “Those calling themselves party leaders have failed to unite the members of the party due to their selfish interests. We tried to draw their attention to the dangers of disunity within our great party, but unfortunately, they refused to listen to us.”
The faction leader criticized a recent stakeholders’ reconciliation meeting initiated by the former governor of the state (now Defense Minister), Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, noting that no representatives from the Jaji camp were invited. He questioned the legitimacy of a meeting that excluded Hon. Sani Jaji, a prominent party stakeholder in Zamfara State.
“How can the state chapter of the APC be complete without Hon. Sani Jaji?” Abubakar queried. “If Hon. Sani Jaji is not a stakeholder of the APC in Zamfara State, who else can we call a stakeholder? This is a deliberate attempt by some self-proclaimed leaders of the state APC to undermine the party.”
In response to these developments, the newly formed faction announced the establishment of a new APC Secretariat in the state, appointing the Vice Chairman and Assistant Secretary to oversee operations until new executive members are elected.
The factionalization of the Zamfara APC now includes factions led by Defense Minister Hon. Bello Mohammed, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, and Hon. Sani Jaji, highlighting deepening divisions within the party ahead of upcoming political activities.
