Providing an update on the overwhelming response, Abdullahi Maiwada, the NCS National Public Relations Officer (PRO), detailed the breakdown of applications across various cadres and categories.

“I want to break down the number of people that applied. We have two categories of officers: support staff, who are professionals, and general duty officers,” Maiwada said.

He explained that under the superintendent cadre (general duty), 249,218 applications were received, while the superintendent cadre (support staff) recorded 27,722 applicants with HNDs and university degrees.

For the inspector cadre, Maiwada noted, “We have 115,634 applicants for general duty and 12,952 for support staff.”

In the customs assistant cadre, applicants were categorized based on secondary school certificate qualifications. “For general duty, we have 153,593 applicants, while for support staff, we have 14,400,” he added.
