Dana Air’s management has announced that flight operations will resume on Wednesday, November 9.

In a statement issued on Friday, the airline stated that it intends to resume flight operations following the successful completion of the audit conducted by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA)

This comes four months after Dana Air was suspended by the NCAA for multiple regulatory violations.

“We are pleased to announce that we will resume flight operations on November 9th, following the successful completion of an audit conducted by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA),” the statement said.

According to Dana Air’s Chief Operating Officer, Ememobong Ettete, the audit was a re-engineering and restructuring process that will position Dana Air well despite current challenges and a hostile economic environment.

He stated that the development will allow the airline to fully focus on strengthening its operations efficiently for long-term growth while still providing safe, dependable, and exciting flying experiences to the public.

“As a proudly Nigerian brand with Nigerians at the helm of affairs and over 14 years of service to the Nigerian flying public, we will be eternally grateful to our customers, travel partners, clients, and vendors for remaining loyal to us during the audit, and we will never take your loyalty and support for granted as it means a lot to us.”

“We also want to thank the NCAA for the painstaking Audit process and the professionalism displayed by the team of inspectors and management personnel who stayed sometimes past their official closing times to ensure that we do what needs to be done properly and on time during the Audit process.

“This audit has repositioned us as a vibrant and resilient brand, which has benefited both us and the industry as a whole.” This is also strongly advised for all domestic airlines for the sake of the industry.

“For customers with unused tickets, we have extended their validity for one year as a small token for our brief absence from the market; a transfer option is also available to them; and we shall be offering competitive fares as always and gifting free tickets onboard our flights for the next 30 days beginning November 9th,” Ettete added.
