General Christopher Mustapha, Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, has labeled the act of flying a Russian flag in Nigeria as a treasonous offence.
This declaration came after an emergency security session held with President Bola Tinubu at Aso Rock on Sunday.
General Mustapha emphasized that individuals involved in this act will face legal consequences. “The law will catch up with such people ,” he stated.

In addition, General Mustapha issued a stern warning to those advocating for a coup, asserting that the Nigerian military remains firmly committed to democratic principles.
“The military had accepted democracy and regime change would never be allowed,” he affirmed, underlining the military’s dedication to upholding the country’s democratic framework.
