The Diplomatic Correspondents Association of Nigeria (DICAN) has congratulated the newly signed Ambassadors of the Republic of Korea, Tunisia, and a high commissioner from Zambia to Nigeria.

The ambassadors are Kim Pan Kyu, representing the government and the good people of Korea, and Antit Mohsen, representing Tunisia, while the high commissioner, Muhali Imbuwa, represents Zambia in Nigeria.

While welcoming the newly appointed ambassadors, DICAN urges them to embrace the 4D policy of the Nigerian government for enhanced mutual relations.

“We stressed the need for partnership with the new ambassadors, the high commissioner, and the entire diplomatic community for their embassies to be properly reported as well as to maintain quality media coverage to sustain the mutually beneficial ties with their host country, Nigeria.”

The association further assured the ambassadors of its maximum support at all times in line with the provisions of the Nigerian constitution and the relevant laws guiding their conduct and duties.

While assuring their support to the new diplomats, the association used the opportunity to commend the leadership style of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the Chairman, Authority of Heads of States, Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, for the fatherly role he is playing towards unifying the regional bloc and fostering peace and development in tandem with the dreams of its founding fathers.

DICAN advised President Tinubu to adopt every diplomatic means possible in persuading Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger to return to ECOWAS after their threat to abandon the regional body for a new group. The association also called on him to sustain his administration’s Renewed Hope reforms in line with the nation’s foreign policy direction anchored on democracy, developments, demography, and diaspora (4D).

Diplomatic Correspondents‘ Association of Nigeria (DICAN) is an umbrella body of over fifty (50) correspondents and editors from the electronic, print, new media (online), and wire services officially assigned by their media organizations to report the diplomatic beat.
