Men of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service have averted a disaster by rescuing a Peddler Truck conveying 11,000 Litres diesel which gutted fire
at Jakande 1st Gate, Lekki – Epe Expressway, Lagos.

The incident occurred when the truck with number plate FKJ 703 XF, was on motion on Wednesday morning.

However, the swift response of the Lekki Phase l Fire Crew of the Agency ensured that only the cabin, where the Fire emanated from was affected while other sections of the Truck and contents were saved.

Ogabi Olajide,Chief Fire Officer,
Deputy Head, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, who confirmed the development to newsmen said there is no casualty as both the driver and motor boy escaped unhurt while the cause could be traced to mechanical fault.

He said, “A team of Policemen from Ilasan Police Division and officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority were on hand to bring the operation to a logical conclusion.”

At press time, normalcy has returned to the area.
