The statement reads in part;
In January 2022, eHealth Africa partnered with AfriLabs, Firstfounders, Kano Startup, Tech4Dev, and Women who code to run her first-ever female-only cohort of the eHA Academy with the mission to ignite the careers of future female leaders in the African tech scene.
This bold step to host a female-only cohort further conveys the commitment of the organization to provide more opportunities and reduce barriers for women interested in starting tech careers.
“The Academy’s primary goal is to create a platform for young people to gain first-hand experience and training in technology and seeing the smiles on the faces of our graduates encourages us to work more.” said Juliet Odogwu, Executive Director, eHealth Africa.
The Academy kick-started the cohort with 32 young vibrant females and took them through 10 weeks of intensive course work. The successful graduates who have received knowledge and skills in the areas of HTML, CSS, and Javascript will be matched to internships in software development, quality assurance engineering, business analysis, and UI/UX design.
On the 3rd of June, there will be a graduation ceremony to officially bring to an end the classroom sessions while kick-starting the Internship program. Successful graduates will be absorbed by eHA Academy partner organizations scattered across the country for a three-month internship to enable them to get hands-on experience on what they have been taught.
