Finidi George, the Chief Coach of Enyimba International Football Club of Aba, says the former Nigerian champions will not disappoint their fans in the ongoing 2022/2023 league season.
George, while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Aba on Thursday assured that the club would perform well in the season’s abridged league competition.
“We will perform well at the end of it all, well enough to qualify for any of the 2023/2024 continental competitions,” he said in his reaction to their match Match Day 2 fixture with Akwa United FC of Uyo.
NAN reports that Enyimba had drawn goalless in the match played at home on Wednesday in the Group A of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The former Super Eagles forward however acknowledged that his boys players did not impress him during the match with Akwa United.
They had defeated hosts Nasarawa United FC of Lafia 2-1 in Jos on Saturday in their Match Day 1 fixture.
George however promised that there would be positive changes which would spur Enyimba into better performances in the future.
“We will not give up on our chances of making our 2022/2023 league campaign to bear better fruits for us and our fans,” the coach said.
