As the 2023 election draws near, the opposition New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has continued to receive defectors from the ruling All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party into its fold.
In the latest development, four former deputy chairmen from Billiri, Kwami and Nafada and a former councillor have defected from the PDP and joined the NNPP.
They joined the NNPP after meeting the state NNPP governorship candidate for the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Our correspondent reports that the defectors include a deputy chairman of Billiri LGA (2003), Philip Bataliya, and Yila Dankuka who served in the same capacity from 2013 to 2015.
Others include a former deputy chairman of Kwami LGA, Auwalu Rabiu Daba, ex-deputy chairman of Nafada local government, Aliyu Idris Biri, and a former councillor from Tal Ward in Billiri LGA between 2013 and 2015.
