Buildings and property were destroyed early Saturday morning when suspected dynamite exploded at the secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) along Aba Road in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.
The explosion caused significant damage, bringing down the secretariat’s gate and destroying doors, windows, and other items in the building.

This marks the second time the Chief Tony Okocha-led APC secretariat has been targeted this year. The attack came just hours before local government elections, with the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission announcing on Friday that all sensitive materials had been distributed to local government areas.
A viral video circulating online showed workers assessing the extent of the damage.
When contacted, Grace Iringe-Koko, spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, said she had not yet received a formal report on the incident but would provide updates.
The APC has yet to release an official statement regarding the explosion.
