Nigerian athlete Favour Ofili was seen crying after finishing 6th in the womenโ€™s 200 meters final at the 2024 Olympic Games.

At 21 years old, Ofili had high hopes following a strong performance in the heats and a second-place finish in the quarterfinals behind Julien Alfred.

On August 5, she set a season-best time of 22.05 seconds in the qualifiers, raising hopes for a medal.

However, in the final, Ofili clocked 22.24 seconds, falling short of the podium. The gold medal went to the USAโ€™s Gabby Thomas with a time of 21.83 seconds, while Julien Alfred from Saint Lucia earned silver, and Brittany Brown from the USA took bronze.

Despite the disappointment, Ofiliโ€™s performance throughout the competition highlighted her potential and set a promising stage for future events.
