The Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe says it has introduced ‘Open, Distance and Flexible E-learning Programme (ODFL) to serve the working class within and outside the state.

Dr Usman Kallamu, the Rector of the Polytechnic disclosed this at the 25th Matriculation ceremony of 2020/2021 academic session on Friday in Damaturu.

Represented by Dr Ruben Akinsola, the Deputy Rector, Academic, Kallamu said that the new course was opened for application for interested individuals.

“This will give a window for particularly the working class both within and outside Damaturu to explore for further studies,” he said.

The Rector enumerated some of the courses offered by the institution that were recently captured on Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal.

The courses according to him includes Renewable Energy, Agricultural Technology, Architecture, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying and Urban and Regional Planning.

“These courses had resource inspection last year and are now captured on JAMB Portal and have commenced studies at the National Diploma level, this session,” Kallamu said.

The Rector congratulated the 1,031 students and changed them to be of good and moral behaviour within and outside the campus.

“The students constitute 533 National Diploma, 498 Higher National Diploma students cutting across 21 Academic Departments who will be taking their Matriculation Oaths in the course of this Ceremony,” he added. (NAN)
