Kano state government has announced the closure of secondary schools across the state, effective from Friday, December 10, 2021.
A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, state ministry of Education, Aliyu Yusuf however announced that boarding schools will vacate on Saturday, December 11.

He said that both day and boarding schools will resume for the second term on January 9th and 10th, 2022 respectively.
The announcement reads: “This is to inform parents and guardians of Students and pupils in the state that the 1st term vacation will commence today Friday 10th December 2021 for Day Students to 10th January 2022.
“While for the students and pupils of Boarding Primary and Secondary schools, their vacation will commence Tomorrow Saturday 11th December 2021 to Sunday 9th January 2022.
“Therefore, parents and guardians are advised to go and convey their children from their wards from their respective schools.
Yusuf added that the state commissioner for Education, Malam Muhammad Sanusi Sa’id Kiru had appealed to parents/ guardians to be vigilant on the movements of their wards and also engaged them in anything that will make their lives better during the vacation.
