The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the death of five of its officers in a tragic motor accident along the Zaria-Kano road in the early hours of Tuesday.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, disclosed the incident, stating that the accident occurred in Karfi village, located in Kura Local Government Area, while the officers were returning from an official assignment.
“The accident occurred at Karfi, a few kilometres from Kano, and five of the officers died as a result of the accident while 11 others sustained injuries,” Haruna said.
The injured officers were immediately rushed to Murtala Mohammad Specialist Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
It was reported that the officers’ vehicle collided head-on with a trailer, leading to the fatal incident.
