PSG’s hopes of a comeback were shattered as Mats Hummels scored a crucial header in the 50th minute, extending Dortmund’s lead after Julian Brandt’s corner.

In a display of resilience, Dortmund managed to hold off PSG’s relentless attacks, leaving the hosts frustrated and unable to make a comeback. PSG came close to scoring on four separate occasions, only to be denied by the woodwork.

A critical analysis of PSG’s performance revealed a concerning overreliance on the exceptional skills of star players such as Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, as highlighted by Wenger.

He praised Vitinha for consistently delivering quality balls throughout the match, singling him out as the only positive aspect in PSG‘s overall disappointment.

In an interview with beIN Sports, the Frenchman expressed his thoughts on the match, stating that Vitinha was the standout performer in midfield, delivering all the quality passes. Following that, the focus shifted to the actions of individuals, namely Dembele and Mbappe, and that’s precisely what unfolded.
