In a shocking turn of events, Nick Imudia, the former Chief Executive Officer of Konga, one of Nigeria’s leading e-commerce companies, has died by suicide.

The tragic incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at his residence in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

According to sources close to the family, Imudia took his own life by jumping from the balcony of his apartment, leaving behind a trail of shock and grief among his loved ones, friends, and associates.

In a poignant twist, the businessman reportedly made a final call to his brother in the United States, instructing him on how to distribute his wealth. He also spoke to his young daughter, reassuring her that he would always be there for her, moments before taking the fatal leap.

The news of Imudia’s passing has sent shockwaves through the Nigerian business community, with many struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss.

Friends, family, and associates are still reeling in disbelief, trying to understand what could have driven the successful entrepreneur to take such a drastic step as they recall his infectious laughter, his compassionate listening ear, and his unwavering support for those in need

Originally from Ika South, Delta State, Nick was formerly married to his daughter’s mother, also from the same area. However, their marriage dissolved due to unresolved differences. Imudia, who served as CEO of D.light, a leading provider of solar energy solutions and innovative household products, until his untimely death

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of the former Konga CEO, with the Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stating, “Yes, it is true. He committed the act on June 25.”
The authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Imudia’s death, but no further details have been released.
