Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state congratulated the Chairman of Ungogo local government, Engineer Abdullahi Garba Ramat, for winning twin awards from the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA).

The LG chairman was recognized as being the best-performing chairman in West Africa in complying with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This was contained in a Tuesday, December 20, 2022, statement issued by Abba Anwar, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kano State.

As an IT-compliant chairman, the governor said, “This award is not only timely, but it goes to the right person.

“This is somebody who believes in moving with the new technology. And who believes his people are the center for development?”

In an event that took place during the association’s dinner banquet recently in Lagos, at their 2022 End of Year for Eminent Peace Ambassadors, Ramat was identified as the first local government chairman who promoted and witnessed the SDG Local Volunteering Review.

He needs to always be encouraged for the development of his people and the state in general. “We are proud to have such an amazing young leader.”

“We are happy to also know that this international association understands Engineer Ramat as a leader who executes people-oriented projects, policies, and programs in compliance with the due process in working with the budgetary allocation that is unparalleled to other local governments,” emphasized the governor.

While congratulating the Chairman, Governor Ganduje appreciated how Ramat “aptly presented a topic given to him by the organizers of the award night, that is, E-Governance as a Panacea for Purposeful Leadership, Economic Growth, and Sustainable Development.”
