Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Friday presented an aggregate sum of N245,31,516,94.08 as the proposed budget for 2023 fiscal year before the state house of assembly.
Tagged budget of “Consolidation and Prosperity II”, Ganduje dedicated over N144billion representing 59 per cent for capital expenditure while over N100billion amounting 41 per cent for recurrent expenditure.
In the sectoral allocation, education got the lion’s share of over N6.2 billion, health follows with N39billion, and works and infrastructure N35billion.
General administration N32billion, agriculture N19.9billion, water supply N15billion, and security N12.8billion. Tourism and culture has an allocation of N328 million, Environment N15billion, and Women Affairs N1.2billion.
Ganduje had last year presented over one Hundred and Ninety-Six Billion Naira (N196b) to the Kano State House of Assembly, for the 2022 fiscal year.
The budgetary appropriations will be the last of such presentations by Ganduje to the State House of Assembly as he is expected to bow out of office in May next year.
