Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has urged Nigerians to renew their faith in the country and focus on building a stronger nation.

Ganduje stated this in Kano on Saturday while delivering a speech at the Independence Day celebration.

“I wish to use this opportunity to call on Nigerians more than ever before that we must renew our belief in Nigeria and play our part diligently.

“We all need one another. We must play our part persistently in this trying time to keep Nigeria as one strong nation,” he said.

According to him, the peace being enjoyed in the state has contributed to the boost in commercial activities.

“So, as you see, we are enjoying relative peace in Kano. This is as a result of synergy among security agencies in this state.

“I call on you to maintain this peace among all the people in this state, irrespective of religious and tribal background.

“We should be brothers’ keepers and together contribute to the development of this state and the nation at large,” the governor said.

Ganduje also lauded the successes recorded so far by the military and other security agencies in the fight against insurgency, banditry and kidnapping in the country.

The governor called on residents to volunteer information and report suspicious people to security agencies in the state.

Ganduje also reiterated his administrations commitment in supporting security agencies and protecting lives and property.

He urged the people of the state to continue to pray for peace, unity and progress of the country.

Ganduje, however, stated that the government would continue with commitments to providing quality healthcare services, education and also boost agriculture.
