Georgina Rodriguez has been chastised for appearing to disrespect Cristiano Ronaldo‘s mother, Dolores Aveiro.
On June 17, the family gathered in Madrid to celebrate Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., with Miss Rodriguez leading the show.
Ronaldo was unable to attend his son’s birthday party due to national team duties in Iceland.
In his absence, his mother, Dolores, travelled from Portugal with her partner, Jose Andrade.
The couple decided not to stay in the house with the rest of their family, instead choosing La Finca, a 5-star hotel in Madrid.
Rodriguez posted several photos from Cristiano Jr.’s birthday celebration. She chose not to include her mother-in-law in any of them, however.
On June 22, Dolores posted a video of the party to her Instagram account.
Several commentators on CMTV’s Noite das Estrelas, a talk show, chastised Georgina Rodriguez for sitting while allowing Dolores to stand.
According to Maya, the program’s commentator, “What strikes me the most is that while Georgina is sitting with the children, Dolores Aveiro remains standing, far away, it doesn’t look pretty to me, this.”
Another commentator, Daniel Nascimento, chimed in, saying, “What I’m saying is that it’s not Georgina who has to get up… It was up to those boys to get up.”
However, Maya replied, “If Georgina was a diligent daughter-in-law, Dolores would be in her rightful place! (…) It is a lack of respect!”

According to Leo Caeiro of the Portuguese network CMTV, Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, was unable to spend much time with Cristiano Jr on his 13th birthday.
Georgina Rodriguez’s decision to invite so many of her friends contributed to this. “She barely saw her grandson,” Caeiro told OK Diario. On his birthday, they were able to share special moments.
“Dolores was with all her grandchildren but I must be honest: there is not a pretty relationship between them.”
