In a statement issued on Wednesday by his spokesman, Sunusi Tofa, Yusuf noted that the resources allocated to the scholarship program had been wisely used, with the students exceeding expectations through their impressive academic results.

โ€œThe visit has provided me with an opportunity to engage directly with the students, address their challenges, and gather valuable insights from the pioneer batch of over 400 students sponsored to various universities in Uganda and India as part of the 100:1 Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme,โ€ said Governor Yusuf.

The statement also highlighted the governorโ€™s commitment to advancing education in Kano, emphasizing that nurturing young talents remains a cornerstone of his administrationโ€™s vision for a prosperous state.

Furthermore, the visit allowed the governor to assess the students’ progress firsthand, which will inform preparations for the next batch of scholarship recipients, both for international and local studies. This is aimed at ensuring the completion of the 100:1 initiative by the end of his first term.

The statement concluded by noting that the governorโ€™s visit serves as an inspiration for students to strive for excellence, both within Nigeria and abroad.
