The governor officially signed the minimum wage edict into law earlier today at the state house, with officials from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), including its President Joe Ajaero, in attendance.

Governor Idris was instrumental in the successful implementation of the new wage, having consistently advocated for its adoption.

While many state governors argued that they couldn’t afford the increase, Governor Idris stood firm, insisting that they could pay the wage.
