Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a new management board for Kano Pillars Football Club following the expiration and dissolution of the previous board.
This announcement was made on Sunday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

The newly appointed board members are expected to serve for an interim period of one year, with the possibility of renewal depending on the team’s performance in the coming seasons. The board members include:
- Ali Muhammad Umar (Nayara Mai Samba) – Chairman
- Salisu Kosawa – Honorary Member
- Yusuf Danladi (Andy Cole) – Member
- Nasiru Bello – Member
- Muhammad Ibrahim (Hassan West) – Member
- Muhammad Usman – Member
- Muhammad Danjuma Gwarzo – Member
- Mustapha Usman Darma – Member
- Umar Dankura – Member
- Ahmad Musbahu – Member
- Rabiu Abdullahi – Member
- Abubakar Isah Dandago Yamalash – Media Director
- Ismail Abba Tangalash – Deputy Media Director
- Engr. Usman Kofar Naisa – Member
Governor Yusuf emphasized the selection of individuals for their competence and experience, expressing confidence in their ability to manage and oversee the club’s affairs effectively. “These individuals bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be instrumental in managing and overseeing the affairs of Kano Pillars FC,” the governor stated.
The new board is expected to collaborate closely with the state Ministry of Youth and Sport, as well as other stakeholders in the sports industry, to promote the team.
In addition to the board appointments, Governor Yusuf also named Nigerian Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa as the Kano State Sports Ambassador. His involvement is anticipated to inspire the players and enhance the team’s recognition and prestige.
