A chieftain of the Kano state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Musa Ilyasu Kwankwaso has claimed that the state’s governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf and his political godfather, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso would join the APC next month.
Daily News 24 reports that Mr Kwanwakso revealed this in an interview with Freedom Radio on Wednesday.
Mr Kwankwaso implied that Mr Yusuf, who is a member of the opposition New Nigeria Peoples Party, along with Mr Rabiu Kwankwaso, were set to join the ruling party after forcing out the APC’s suspended National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje.
“We have credible information that Rabiu Kwankwaso has indicated interest in joining the APC as they have agreed.
“They have planned everything and (governor) Abba (Kabir Yusuf) and his people would start joining the ruling party before Kwankwaso joins them later in May (2024),” Mr Ilyasu Kwankwaso said.

“If people believe that Ganduje has committed atrocities for eight years, they should realize that Kwankwaso had done worse.
“So, this means that both Ganduje and Kwankwaso should be subjects of the commissions of enquiry set up by the Kano state government,” he added.
“And if we are talking about political violence including killings, Kwankwaso is the leader of political thugs because he moves around with them where they committed crimes in Kabo, Gezawa and other places in the past.
It could be recalled that Mr Ganduje had been suspended from the APC by the ward executives of his Ganduje ward in Dawakin Tofa local government of Kano state.
Also, a Kano State High Court in Kano had affirmed the suspension of Mr Ganduje, who was the immediate past governor of the state, from the party.
The court, presided over by Justice Umar Malam Na’abba, also restrained the national chairman from presiding over the affairs of the APC’s National Working Committee.
