The defectors, who had previously contested various elective positions in the 2023 general elections under the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and National Rescue Movement (NRM), were formally welcomed into the NNPP during a special event at Africa House, Government House, Kano.
In separate remarks, the leaders of the opposition parties stated that Governor Yusufโs commitment to building a viable society influenced their decision to join NNPP. Malam Shehu Nuhu, one of the leaders, noted that the governorโs accomplishments, particularly in the health and education sectors, convinced him to return to the NNPP.
While receiving the new members, Governor Yusuf praised their decision to recognize the truth despite political misinformation. He reassured them of the NNPP administrationโs continued dedication to socio-economic development across key sectors.
โWhat we are doing is nothing other than implementing our partyโs manifesto, Kwankwasiyya ideology, and our blueprint. Be rest assured that you will be carried along in the NNPPโs affairs and policies and programmes of the present administration for the overall development of Kano,โ said Governor Yusuf.
