Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf of Kano State has directed security agencies to put an end to the thuggery plaguing residents of Kano metropolis.
During the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting on Saturday in Kano, Yusuf expressed concern over the recent surge in thuggery and clashes between miscreants, locally known as “Yan Daba,” in parts of the metropolis.

The governor emphasized that his administration would not tolerate acts that could disrupt peace and security. He urged judges to ensure speedy and fair trials of suspected thugs and warned against the release of individuals who pose a threat to residents.
“Judges must ensure speedy and fair trial of the suspected thugs,” Yusuf stated. “We will not condone acts capable of disrupting the peace and security.”
Charging security agencies to focus on their primary responsibility of protecting lives and property, Yusuf also urged residents to contribute towards maintaining law and order in the state.
