A group under the auspices of Africa Media Development forum (AMDF) in collaboration with Rise up and Public Health Institute takes campaign against Gender-based violence to Kaduna Local Government Areas.
The Project Manager, Benjamin Yunana Maigari during a stakeholders’ meeting with District Heads, Community and Religious leader said the project will take place in twelve Communities spread across five Districts in the two LGAs.
The Two LGAs are Kaduna North and Kajuru, saying a survey conducted revealed that harmful traditional practices are common in the two LGAs.

He noted that Christians and Muslim clerics kicked against GBV.
Executive Director of AMDF, Mr Iliya Kure, explained that the gathering was to sensitize people from the communities in the project.
“We secured grants to do a project around violence against women and girls. We are specific about this project. We are looking at issues that boarders around women and girls” he said.
A legal practitioner, Amina Audi Muhammad said violence against Women and Girls comes in different forms, but, unfortunately, people concentrate on rape cases alone because it is more pronounced.
