Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has provided the latest injury update on midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan, ahead of their Premier League clash with Arsenal this weekend at Emirates.
Gundogan felt a slight groin strain in Man City’s 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.
The Germany international missed Man City’s 3-1 victory over Everton on Wednesday night at Goodison Park.
Gundogan has been in red-hot form for Guardiola’s side so far this season, scoring 11 goals in his last 12 Premier League games for the Citizens.
Providing an update on Gundogan, Guardiola said the player should be available for this Sunday’s trip to Arsenal.
“He [Gundogan] is much, much better, better,” Guardiola told a post-match after Man City defeated Everton.
“It is not a big issue, but to avoid risk today, we have given him a few more days to recover,
“But for Arsenal and Borussia Monchengladbach he should be ready.
“Of course, Gundo is exceptional. We spoke about that. If you want to win titles and finals, we need the whole squad.”
