Unknown gunmen in the wee hours of today stormed the residence of Retired Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Maisaka in Rigasa, Igabi Local government area of Kaduna State, killing him and his grandchild, who was his orderly until his death.
The Police Public Relation Officer of the Command, ASP Muhammed Jalige, confirmed the development.
He added that the gateman also sustained injury from the attack.

According to him, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Mudashiru Abdullahi, has directed the Divisional Officer and the Area Commander to relocate to the scene immediately.
He noted that the corpse of the late Retired Air Force General and his Grandchild had been evacuated to the hospital, and the gateman had also been rushed to the hospital for treatment.
He, therefore, appealed to Kaduna residents to come forward with valuable and timely information that would lead to the arrest of the culprit.
Meanwhile, the deceased wife, Hajiya Fatima Maisaka, said the gunmen did not take anything from the house.
“They only came into the parlour and killed them both without taking any of our belongings. They left our phones with us.”
The late Air Force General was the Managing Director of MSK specialist Hospital Makarfi Road Rigasa and left behind his wife, children and aged mother.
