Hackers have taken over the Kano State Hisbah Board’s official Facebook page, causing the release of inappropriate and explicit contents.
The hack which happened on Wednesday has alarmed both the commission’s officials and local residents who have expressed their disappointment over the breach.

Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, Commander-in-Chief of the Kano State Hisbah board, confirmed the hack and addressed the situation, saying, “Kano State Hisbah Board is aware that its Facebook page has been hacked and inappropriate things are being shared. On behalf of the board, I call on people to help solve this problem.”
He assured the public that the board’s ICT department is actively working to restore the page and is engaged in discussions with Meta to resolve the issue.
Daurawa urged the community to report the hacked page to Meta in English to help prevent further dissemination of inappropriate content.
Sani Zailani, Head of ICT at the Hisbah Board, noted that the account has experienced previous hacks and that Meta has been contacted regarding the latest breach. Meta has pledged to resolve the issue within 48 hours.
He expressed appreciation for the support and concern shown by the public, emphasizing ongoing efforts to recover the page and regain control.
