Popular content creator and skit maker, Mark Angel, has described 2024 as the most challenging year of his life, revealing that he lost $3.7 million in forex trading, a setback that plunged him into deep financial and emotional turmoil.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Sunday, Mark Angel opened up about the series of hardships he endured following the loss, including losing his properties to loan sharks and battling overwhelming debt and hopelessness.

“The year 2024 began like every other year, but I had no idea how much it would test me, how much it would break me, yet ultimately reshape me. It was the year I lost everything,” he wrote.
The skit maker admitted that trusting the wrong hands in forex trading cost him his fortune, leaving him suffocated by debt. “The weight of the loss, over $3.7 million, was suffocating. I was drowning in debts, and one by one, I watched all my properties slip into the hands of loan sharks. It felt like my world was crumbling, and in my darkest moments, I considered ending it all,” he confessed.
Mark Angel credited divine intervention and the unwavering support of loved ones for helping him navigate his darkest hours. “But God…if not for His mercies, I wouldn’t be here writing this. He sent angels into my life when I needed them the most,” he wrote.
He expressed gratitude to his family, friends, pastor, ex-wife Mandy, daughters Victoria and Mila, his son Schoolboy, and social media assistant Bright, for standing by him during the ordeal.
While undergoing therapy to recover from the trauma, Mark revealed that he faced another devastating challenge — a scandal that rocked his career and exposed disloyalty among those he once trusted.
“This experience revealed fake friends and hidden saboteurs but also taught me valuable lessons about trust, resilience, and faith,” he noted.
Despite the struggles, Mark Angel emphasized that 2024 also became a year of spiritual growth and renewal. “2024 was the hardest year of my life, but it was also the year God drew me closer to Him. Through the ashes, He taught me resilience, faith, and the true meaning of grace. I don’t take it for granted that I’m alive today,” he concluded.
