National Identity Number (NIN) is the unique number for verifying an individual identity connecting to his/her biometric details on the Natinal Identity data base.
Recall that the Federal Government has ordered telecommunications operators including MTN, Globacom, Airtel, and 9mobile to bar all outgoing calls of all Subscriber Identification Module cards not yet linked with the National Identification Number effective today, April 4, 2022.

How To Check If Your NIN Has Been Successfully Linked To Your Glo Sim – Glo network providers will send you a message saying they have “successfully” received your NIN. If you updated your NIN via text message to 109, They will reply the message indicating if it was successful or not.
If you also dial *109#, you will be asked to input your 11 digits NIN Number, and after, you will receive a “Successful” message. You can try multiple times if you are unsure.
How to check MTN NIN status on your phone
How To Check If Your NIN Has Been Successfully Linked To Your MTN Sim – MTN subscribers are to dial *785#, you would be given the option to input your NIN.
After you input your NIN which is 11 digits number, then you would get a message alert regarding the status of your NIN to your MTN number.
If you are unsure if you have linked your NIN to your MTN SIM before, you can try again until you see the successful message.
How to check Airtel NIN status on your phone
How To Check If Your NIN Has Been Successfully Linked To Your Airtel Sim – To confirm if your Airtel number has been linked to your NIN, dial *1211#, you would get a message prompting you that your NIN has been successfully uploaded. Then you would get a confirmatory message telling you that your NIN has been linked.
If you do not get such message, try to upload your NIN till you get a confirmatory message.

How To Check If Your NIN Has Been Successfully Linked To Your 9Mobile Sim – To check if your NIN has been linked to your phone number, dial *996# and follow the instructions or go to https://9mobile.com.ng/nin/
