Getting a Nigerian International Passport has been made easier as Citizens can obtain it virtually. Daily news24 brings steps on processes to follow to acquire a Nigerian passport online.

While some countries will require visitors to have a Visa, some might not, but what is important to note is that an international passport is needed for any travel abroad.

The Nigerian Immigration Services (NIS) offers two types of e-passports: “Standard” and “Official.” Each is intended for a specific type of travel.

All Nigerian citizens can obtain standard e-passports (with a green cover). Meanwhile, only Nigerian diplomats and government officials are issued official e-passports (with a blue cover).

Nigerians applying for passports will be charged N1000 in Nigeria for the verification of their National Identification Number.

It is usually divided into pages (32 and 64) and types (standard and official). Citizens who do not travel abroad frequently are usually issued a 32-page passport. If your job or business requires you to make multiple international business trips per year, you can apply for a passport with 64 pages.

As a leisure traveller, you can also apply for a 64-page passport. This eliminates the need to renew your passport on a regular basis.
