Yesterday, Ibadan, Oyo State experienced a heavy downpour that caused flooding on the bridge connecting Olodo Garage and Olodo Bank on Iwo Road. The deluge resulted in buses and houses being submerged, forcing some residents to evacuate for their safety.

Unfortunately, this left certain individuals stranded, unable to reach their homes.Even today, some residents and people who ventured out remain stranded due to the ongoing flooding situation, making it impossible for them to access their houses.

Urgent calls are being made to Governor Seye Makinde and the Oyo State government to intervene promptly and provide an immediate solution to the current flooding predicament.

It’s essential to mention that before the flood incident, a section of the road was already under construction as part of the reconstruction efforts. However, the flooding has worsened the situation, posing additional challenges for residents and commuters alike.
