The Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman, has commended the Kano Road and Traffic Agency KAROTA describing it as a Safety Agency.
According to him, the Agency, which is second to none in the whole Federation, plays a significant role in the State by ensuring the safety of the State’s people, particularly on the roads.
The IGP made the commendation in Kano during a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR.
According to him, the traffic situation is really a nightmare in the country. Those who frequent the Federal Capital Abuja can testify how difficult it is to control traffic due to motorists disobedience to traffic lights with car parks and markets, causing more challenges to the easy flow of traffic.
Usman stated that to his amazement, the situation is not the same in Kano due to the rigorous work by KAROTA under its able Managing Director Hon. Dr Baffa Babba Dan’agundi, the man who has returned orderliness to the streets of Kano.
In his words, “this is not the Kano I used to know.
If every State Governor emulates what I have seen in Kano, Traffic will be history in this country.
In fact, Kano doesn’t need another State Police. You already have one who is delivering good results just as expected of them.
Furthermore, he salutes the Agency’s Managing Director and charge him and his men to redouble their efforts to deliver Governor. Ganduje’s human development policies to the people of the State.
