The Kaduna state commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, has identified indiscipline as the major cause for youths restiveness in the Kaduna state and Nigeria at large.

He made this assertion on Strengthening Youth-focused Public Service Delivery in Kaduna state organized by Connected Development (CODE) at a public hearing.

Aruwan said discipline is essential, stressing that no matter how brilliant a young man or woman is, it is crucial to anchor the potential.

According to him, “lack of discipline is a hindrance to success.”

Therefore, he appealed to young men and women who have shown leadership potentials to imbibe discipline.

Also speaking, the State Lead of CODE, Abubakar Muhammed, advised the youths to engage the Kaduna state government effectively because it is a signatory to Open Government Partnership (OGP) rather than be an agent of unrest.

He further said as young people; there are specific ways they can engage the government through group advocacy.

Muhammed added that the youths are should also engage the government in tracking current infrastructural projects in their communities.

Speaking on the reason for the gathering, he said many youths in Kaduna state are unemployed for many reasons; CODE, therefore, deems it necessary to invite young people to the public hearing for government to make commitments in a better way forward.
